birthTIPS
Daily diet examples

You may need to increase the amount of servings you have each day from the 5 main food groups during pregnancy, to keep up with your (and your baby's) nutritional needs. The different food groups and serving amounts and examples are covered in depth in Class A, however, as a guide your daily diet should aim to have about:

8 servings a day of breads cereals and grains.
3 to 4 servings of fruit and 4 to 5 servings of vegetables.
2 to 3 servings of protein meat alternatives (possibly including an egg).
4 servings of dairy products or fortified soy drinks (some people will use baby formula).
Salt, sugar and fats in moderation.
