Points to consider for recording
If you, or a friend, intend to record your own guided relaxation and visualisation there are a few points to remember:
Begin speaking in a normal relaxed tone. |
Allow your voice to become quieter, speaking slower as the relaxation progresses. |
The words should be spoken slowly, (but not too slow), with pauses and phrasing for emphasis. Phrasing for emphasis is important in formulating a hypnotic suggestion. This is a suggestion given in a state of deep relaxation, phrased in a way to decrease the probability of resistance to the suggestion, and to increase the probability of its acceptance. |
You may wish to play some relaxing background music, or nature sounds such as running water, while recording. |
Points to consider before you visualise
Turn your phone down or off. |
Allow yourself at least 15-20 minutes |
Remember, there is no wrong or right way to visualise. |
If you fall asleep, it doesn't matter. The relaxation aim has obviously worked. |
Make yourself comfortable. |
Empty your bladder. |
