Rupture of the uterus is a very unpredictable, traumatic experience for all involved. For some women it can not only mean the death of their baby, but also the loss of their uterus as well, meaning that future biological children are not possible. Either way it is a profoundly devastating situation for the woman, her partner and their families, one that needs an immense amount of support and counselling, as well as an understanding of possibly what went wrong.
Discussions with your caregiver(s), contact with the hospital's social work department, and if the baby has died support from SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support) can be options. They may also be aware of other relevant support groups or counselling, that you can access in your local area. They may also be able to help you seek support from other women who have experienced this type of loss.
