Iridology kinesiology

Iridology kinesiology

Iridology dates back to the time of Hippocrates (about 400 BC) and is used to diagnose diseases by studying the eye's iris (the coloured part of the eye), which is as individually unique as your fingerprints. The iris is believed to reflect the health of the body's organs and glands. Weaknesses are diagnosed by noting spots, changes in colour, unusual patterns and markings on the iris and charting them on an eye map or photographing them. Iridology is aimed at detecting health problems before symptoms actually appear.

Natural therapists (such as herbalists and homeopaths) may use iridology to complement their other therapies. Often they have done a separate course on iridology and use this method as a non-invasive way to diagnose health problems for treatment. It is important that your iridologist is a reputable practitioner.

There are no problems with using iridology during pregnancy. If any serious health problems are found, you may need to be referred to another caregiver for further investigations and treatment.

Kinesiology

Kinesiology was developed in the USA by chiropractors. The therapy gently tests muscles to identify weaknesses in the body and is aimed at detecting physical and emotional imbalances before they manifest into serious health problems. Assessment is generally made of the circulatory, digestive, lymphatic, respiratory and nervous systems as well as emotional and psychological states to diagnose problems needing treatment and to restore energy and balance to the body.

Kinesiologists usually gently test about 40 muscles in the body by applying pressure. The client 'resists' by applying counter-pressure at certain points to identify affected organs and blocked energy. The process is generally quick and there should be no pain involved. If a problem is identified, light acupressure is then applied to release the energy and sometimes dietary changes are suggested.
