Late pregnancy often brings with it many discomforts and as the baby grows bigger and your belly grows heavier, feeling tired of being pregnant and generally fed up with the whole process are common emotions. Most women come to this point at some stage during the last few months and the impatience can make you feel like you would give anything to have your baby born.

We seldom hear of a mother dying in labour, however this thought crosses some mothers and partners minds as the day of labour approaches. Along with the many unknowns that labour brings, so to can the concern of dying, be it fleetingly or regularly occupying your mind.
This concern may arise from a relative or friend experiencing a difficult or tragic labour, or purely as a fear of the unknown experience of labour. Whatever the reason, share this concern with your partner, if single your mother or a friend that you trust or your caregiver. Identifying and sharing this concern may enable you to develop coping strategies to help deal with it.
