If you live in Australia, you can contact breastfeeding counsellors from the Australian Breastfeeding Association (or ABA), formally known as the 'Nursing Mother's Association'. The counsellors are women who have breastfed themselves and have completed a course in breastfeeding management and counselling. They are volunteers and are not medically trained, so cannot give medical advice, but can give practical advice, support and information on breastfeeding and many difficulties that may be encountered. You can visit their website:
www.breastfeeding.asn.au
Many other countries have similar organisations, such as the La Leche League in New Zealand and the US, and the National Childbirth Trust in the UK.
